There are people outside right now, definitely not keeping any distance from each other. Walking together, standing close. Some of them might be living together too, but some obviosly just met next to an alcohol store to get a drink together. (Right on the street, yes.)

I need an acetone-free nail polish remover for repainting, but it's Inessential, and getting outside might mean risking my life, or someone else's life. So I can't even repaint. And at some point I'll need food, which is Essential, but still would mean going out and risking my life, or someone else's life.

And there are people outside standing close to each other and talking.

Ugh.

In my neighborhood, people have been really good about social distancing. When I've had to leave the house to go to the store, for example, everyone has stood at least six feet from each other in line.

Good for them. At least *somewhere* people care about others' and their own health.
