21 January 2018 21:51In all honesty, while I always say that my dolls are characters, not actors, someteimes it's... not quite true. Because I have this infuriating tendency to look at a doll photo and create the whole story for that doll in my head, and voila! the new character... and now I can't get rid of them, they're suddenly part of the story - but the doll they're inspired by is unavailable. Sometimes they're staying text-only characters - not a problem, there's plenty of those in the story already. But sometimes I need someone to... exist in three-dimensional format. And then I have to employ a stand-in of sorts. I'll never get my hands on that movie!Batman doll, but I already have an action figure to whom I could transfer not-Batman's entire backstory, because this dude wasn't supposed to be anyone specific anyway. (I'm not even sure I actually want that Batman doll - I mean, if he was, improbably, gifted to me, I wouldn't refuse such an expensive gift, but movie!Superman or TV!Uhura dolls would make me sooo much happier.)
