I prefer to invent conspiracy theories strictly for fun, the more ridiculous the better. "The TV show methodically disposes of queer actors" is not a fun conspiracy, though it does sound ridiculous, considering that one of the people responsible for the said show's entire existence is gay.
People leave all the time for various reasons. Sometimes they just have other things to do. (And sometimes they dont actually leave - just take temporary breaks. Or at least we are told that the breaks are temporary.) Sometimes people who are straight also leave. Majority of people are straight, so straight people leave all the time, and nobody sensible would claim there's some secret heterophobic conspiracy beyond it.
I shouldn't overthink this.
