28 October 2018 14:54I have a fictional band and a list of song titles I'm writing down on a specifically designated piece of paper. Some of these titles are mondegreens resulted from me mishearing something in English and deciding I kinda like the wrong phrase better. I wouldn't call it "wordplay".
According to the dream I had today, though, all the titles for those nonexisting songs are wordplay/puns, and so I needed to add "common dread" to the list because it's a play on "common thread". So I did. The list also had something like "thanks and taking it" which also was supposed to be a pun on something, no idea what.
I woke up, couldn't find my list of song titles but wrote "common dread" down on a nearby post-it note anyway.
"Common thread" isn't an expression I use frequently - or at all - when I think in English.
