I'd like to have "a positive attitude", for the record.
But I can't just fake "positivity".
My show is not nearly as Progressive and Groundbreaking as it believes itself to be. My fandom is full of hateful bigots who throw tantrums whenever a character of colour (especially if it's, horror of horrors, a female character!) dares to take a screentime from white male protagonist or, even worse, disagrees with him about anything at all. It's very understandable that people get tired of all this. They want to celebrate the times when the show gets things right. They want to ignore the haters and those who complain about the haters. It's really, really very understandable.
But when I'm frustrated, or annoyed, or bitter, I can't be expected to pretend that everything is fine and I'm fine with everything.
I like to like stuff. I don't like to hate stuff. But I'm allowed to not always be happy about stuff, too. It's not my fault that the show, surprise-surprise, has things happening in it. Of course I'm going to have opinions about these things and have emotional reactions to them. Were it, say, "Cisco Ramon's Guide To Proper Hair Care" instead of a superhero drama with plots and storylines and Drrrrama! and High Stakes! and way too many unnecessary het romances that only exist because TPTB don't know what else to do with characters... were it "Cisco Ramon's Guide To Proper Hair Care", I doubt I'd have all that many reasons to be "negative". I'm not intentionally loolking for things to get angry about - those things keep finding me.
