I remember reading a review of a certain movie, and at some point the reviewer snarked about seemingly every character's overwhelming love of "Nautilus Pompilius". (Oh, in case someone for some reasons reads this, and also isn't Russian - Nautilus Pompilius in question is a rather legendary rock band (they also contributed to the soundtrack, I think?), not a mollusc. Though a movie in which everyone is obsessed with the specific mollusc would be... interesting.) The "every character's favourite band" part might have been an exaggeration, I suppose - I've no idea since I never watched that movie and don't ever intend to watch it. But lately I worry that I might fall into the same trap with my own in-universe-only comics. How many characters are allowed to compare real-life events to something that happened in "Zafferano" before it becomes utterly obnoxious?
