unsatisfactory_person(I wasn't able to watch this season of DW, which is upsetting, of course, but I did keep track of whatever has been happening - through fanblogs and reviews/recaps/gifsets.)
Cynical!me: So I guess 2017 is the year in which black women on time-travelling shows are kinda-killed-but-SHOCKINGTWIST!!!!!-not-really, and it's great that they don't actually permanently die - but TPTB still made a decision to "kill" them and still made us watch them "dying" - in one case, repeatedly, every. fucking. week... and some other character I love still dies for real, because someone has to die, because finale.
Queer Whovian!me: Bill is alive!!! And immortal!!!!! And loved!!!!!!!!!
Cynical!me: *shuts up and lets me celebrate*
(And of course, of course, there are already some complainers whose enjoyment of the show - as if they even actually enjoyed it in the first place - is Ruined because a black lesbian didn't die.
How horrible. Some queer black girl might watch the show and get unrealistic ideas that people like her are allowed to have happy endings.)
Hooray for Bill. Hopefully the Christmas special won't undo it all, or I'll be super angry.
